I'm back on a windows machine. I have no idea how to make it nice yet. Here's what I've done so far:

install wsl
install powertoys
install alacritty (use the installer, not portable)
- add config: /mnt/c/Users/XXX/AppData/Roaming/alacritty/alacritty.yml
